WHEN Stroud FM took to the airwaves at the end of March this year, radio licensing watchdog Ofcom gave the station until July to get into shape.
Three months down the line, it has passed Ofcom's remit with flying colours and is now here to stay. To celebrate the Stroud FM team are holding a launch party on Friday night at the Prince Albert in Rodborough, with live music from Kaiche, Short Blue Fuse, Decipher Manana, plus some choice vinyl from DJs Noel and Pav.
"This party is to celebrate the fact that we're here," said Stroud FM presenter Claire Penketh.
"I've been amazed by the breadth of programmes we've had so far. Over 200 volunteers have had some input, but we're always on the look out for more.
"At the moment we want to find people who'd like to take part in a listening panel', which will involve giving us feedback on some of the shows."
The Stroud FM party starts at 7.30pm. For further information about the party, or about getting involved in the station, call 0752 8378876 or email radio@stroudfm.co.uk
