A FETE and youth club open day was held at Mason Road playing field and cadet centre in Stroud on Saturday.

The fete started at 1pm and had many attractions such as a barbecue, bouncy castle, bric-a-brac, skittles, the Air Cadet band, raffle, and face painting.

There was even a competition for fete queens, won by sisters Georgie, Abbi and Lauren Harrison and Kimberley Okey.

Mick Jones, one of the event organisers, said: "The weather meant that a few things were cancelled such as the evening disco and inflatable slide but people did seem to enjoy it. There were about 50 people in all."

Money raised for the youth club is still being counted.
